The TFNU Peaks Challenge is a self-paced trail challenge for Northern Utah trail lovers to set a goal to bag all four or our iconic local Peaks in one season. Ranging in elevation from Malans at 6980 feet all the way to Ben Lomond Peak at 9711 feet. Anyone who has completed any of these four peaks will tell you that they can be a bit of a challenge.
Participants choose when to complete each of the four peaks (Malans, Lewis, Mt.Ogden & Ben Lomond - just like the levels of our TFNU membership program). Peaks can be done any time, and in any order, between June 3rd, 2023 & October 14th, 2023. Whether you end up bagging just one or do all four - participants will receive an exclusive peak sticker for each mountain top you reach and a big sticker when you complete all four peaks.  Participants bagging all four peaks during that time will also be honored at the TFNU Fall Trail Mixer October 26th at the Monarch and receive a pretty cool surprise.

Episode #7: TFNU Fall Trail Mixer

FREE FALL TRAIL MIXER EVENT
Join TFNU, Thursday, October 26th, at The Monarch in Ogden from 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm. 
This free fall celebration is a chance for us to honor and thank the people in the community who - because of their support - allow TFNU to do what we do. This event is also a way for the public (who may be unfamiliar with us) to see and hear the ins and outs of our organization, and ask any questions they may have. Attendees will have a chance to meet and chat with TFNU staff & board, ask questions, learn about our Membership Program, and get a 'behind the scenes' look at the projects we are currently involved in across Northern Utah and hear what plans are in the work for the future.

Episode #6: National Trails Day 2023

Saturday, June 3rd, 9 am - 1 pm
TFNU is excited to host another amazing, fun-filled, community & trail focused - free - National Trails Day event on Saturday, June 3rd. We will have trail clean-up projects, bike techs, activities, as well as speakers, & demonstrations from local non-profits and trail focused booths right here in Ogden.
We will be set up in the parking lot of ENVE Composites, located at 508 Stockman Way in West Ogden, located between the Ogden Trackline Bike park and the Ogden Kayak park.
This is a family friendly event for everyone in our community. Place bids on silent auction items and stay for the announcement and presentation of the 2023 Richard S. White Friend of The Trails Award

Episode #5: Brandi Bosworth - Ogden Nature Center Earth Day and more

Earth Day 2023 is right around the corner. Last year, TFNU was fortunate to be apart of the Ogden Nature Centers Earth Day event and we look forward to being at this years event as well. We sit down with Brandi Bosworth from the ONC to talk about Earth Day, Fly with Flock 5k and all things Ogden Nature Center.

Episode #4: Mike Appleby- TFNU Board Chair

Mike Appleby came to Utah in 1989 and has been on the trails here ever since. In. 2017, he became a board member of Weber Pathways and has helped transform the organization to amazing heights. Now as the TFNU Board Chair, Mike has been an intricate part of our growth and success. During this episode we learn more about Mike and his thoughts on TFNU now and our future. We also talk about his travels and his "Mount Rushmore" of trails.

Episode #2: Author Stephen Trimble

This year we are excited to announce that Stephen Trimble will be the author at our annual TFNU Author event on May 5, 2023 at the Timberline Restaurant in Ogden. Tickets are still available.
Stephen Trimble tells stories—in words and photographs. As a writer, editor and photographer, he has published 25 award winning books during 45 years of paying attention to the landscapes and peoples of the Desert West.
  He has worked as a free-lance writer and photographer since 1981 and has received numerous awards along the way for his work.
Trimble’s Author Dinner program is entitled “Cathedral in the Desert: A Lifetime in the Anthropocene West.” His award-winning photos will take the audience on a tour of the Intermountain West as he shows how human activities have impacted the environment enough to create geologic change.
